I’ll be able to support my colleagues with the CPD I received and the wonderful training I had”

It’s wonderful having a script that is designed for a class that is age appropriate”

Previous Teacher from Playhouse

An enriching and comprehensive CPD programme that connects teachers with playwrights and theatre makers. Teachers learn rehearsal and directing techniques and develop the skills and confidence they need to bring drama into the classroom.

Teachers feel empowered through practical support from the Playhouse team, who are committed to helping schools overcome any barriers.

Teachers work with specially commissioned professional playwrights who develop scripts that are relevant and topical for young people today. The easy to deliver Playhouse project ensures minimal props and costumes, which makes it cost effective and practical to achieve.

Key Playhouse Dates:

  • Early March: Writers Digital Workshop, where all the teachers from across the UK, get the chance to meet the playwrights and find out more about their play choice.

  • April: Teacher Workshop and CPD training at the theatre for all the teachers in your local area on the project.

  • During the Summer Term: One to one visit at your school during your rehearsals to offer you tips and advice on your play.

  • Early July: Playhouse Festival dates for the live performances

Each Playhouse Partner will also have additional dates and opportunities as part of their Playhouse project.
